Photo Elements

1. I like this photo because its very dark, and has the perfect amount of light (at least for me). The element that this photo uses is balance, because there are the same number of windows on both sides as well as a light directly down the middle. I would improve the bottom of the photo, maybe crop it out. I took this photo.

2. I like this photo because its very bright, with lots of sunlight. The element that this photo uses is leading lines, because the sidewalk kind of leads the way. I would improve the bottoms of this picture as well, also the background is kind of distracting. I took this photo.

3. I like this photo because its simple. The photo element used in this photo is unique perspective, because the angle at which this photo was taken is upwards of the tree. I would improve this photo by focusing on the background a little more. I took this photo.

4. I like this photo because its very bright. The photo element used in this photo is simplicity, because there really isn't anything special going on in this photo. I would maybe close the first set of doors to kind of close off the other section. I took this photo.

Falling Man 9/11

The picture named Falling Man creates a sense of sadness and depression. The Falling Man knows his destiny if he stays in the tower, so he decides to leave this world on his own terms, and in a way I sort of respect that. I believe that the Falling Mans family feels sort of downhearted, because they miss the one they love, and it wasn't his fault this happened and he didn't deserve to die.

Iconic Photos

                                                                                                                                                      Sept.14

For a photo to be iconic, it means that a picture has a certain social significance of some sort.  That makes a person remember a certain event.

I believe this photo is iconic because it is the photo that started the flower power movement.

               CBS Photos Of The Week

Photos 9,14,15,23,and 25 all use the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is a rule in photography using imaginary lines dissecting a photo, helping a photographer line up certain objects in the photo look presentable. They help a lot to make a photo look good.
9/10/2015
This photo uses rule of thirds. The lamb is in the center of the picture, which quickly draws your attention. I do believe the photographer could use a bit more balance, maybe if it was from a different angle.

1. Emotional

I picked this photo because attracts me emotionally because it shows the loyalty of the dog even after its owner has passed on. I believe that this photo has made the top 40 because it has emotional connection for anyone who owns an animal and it kind of represents the whole, "Dog is a mans best friend."

2. Interesting Composition

I chose this photo because it has an interesting story to tell the viewer visually. Jane Kasmir is shown planting a flower on the bayonets of soldiers during a protest against the Vietnam War.  This photo is later used to inspire the flower power movement. This photo is basically the start of a whole revolution to follow in the years to come after this.

3. Pretty Imagery

I picked this photo because its very clear and has good pretty good focus and clarity. I believe this photo made the top 40 because its just a very nicely composed picture.

4. Surprising Content

I chose this photo because you wouldn't expect a couple to be kissing in the street when there is obviously rioters in the back. I think this picture made the top 40 because it shows love during war.
